I worked in a cross functional team for a new category which included concept development and product trials with product development and was responsible for its nutritional composition.

The food database of the program is vast, and contains over 9000 foods.

Dr Janet Warren

My Image

I graduated from the University of Ulster with a BSc Hons Degree in Human Nutrition with Registration in Dietetics. I had a comprehensive clinical career spanning ten years mainly based at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, and specialised in clinical pediatrics before becoming Chief Dietitian. I completed a fulltime PhD in childhood obesity at Oxford Brookes University in 2002, and combined an academic and clinical role for a few years.

In 2005 I moved to Australia and managed two research interventions in the treatment of childhood obesity, firstly at the University of Newcastle, New South Wales and then at the University of Queensland.

In 2007, I took up a post in Cambridge with the Medical Research Council’s Human Nutrition Research and Epidemiology Centres. I had sole responsibility for the development of a web-based toolkit for the measurement of diet and physical activity which is widely used by researchers and students.

I then moved to industry, and was Head of Medical for Danone Nutricia Early Life Nutrition where I provided nutrition leadership to the UK business and headed the team which ensures the scientific credibility of product and communication.

I went on to a Global role in Research and Development in The Netherlands, where I was responsible for the nutrition program on dietary intake and for revising the nutritional standards across all categories in the global portfolio.

In March 2014 I returned to the UK and took up a position as Clinical Lead for Dietetics with MoreLife who provide weight management services for adults and families (see www.more-life.co.uk).

I am the co-author of more than 30 peer reviewed journal articles and am a member of the British Dietetic Association and the Health and Care Professions Council.
